Famous people who came from our area

The photographer David Bailey, one of the icons of the Sixties London Scene, was born on 2nd January 1938 at Whipps Cross Hospital, the son of a tailor’s cutter, and spent the first three years of his life in Leytonstone before Second World War bombing forced his family to move.  his first home was in Wallwood Road, Leytonstone (photo below left).
