Famous people who came from our area

The biologist Ray(mond) Beverton was born in 29th August 1922 at 5 Forest Glade, Leytonstone (photo above left), the son of a commercial artist.  He was a pupil at Forest School and got a blue for association football at Cambridge University (Downing College, photo above right). He was Professor of Fisheries Ecology at Cardiff University from 1984.


The actor Don Henderson who had many TV parts (such as the police officer George Bullman) was born (1932) and spent the early part of his life in Leytonstone.
